Course Description

This course will instruct students to practice with the assigned textbook and work on translation projects.  The first project learning is concerned with the bilingual campus signs used by our university and another university of a team's choice.  Students will learn to compare and evaluate the translation strategies deployed by different universities.  The second half of the course will focus on the translation of videos.  To do so, this course will introduce some useful video-editing programs for the translation applications.  Students will form teams to work on their projects and share their projects in the course.

Classroom Decorum

During class, you will be expected not to eat, sleep, chat, read extraneous material, leave and re-enter the classroom, or do other things that may distract class participants from discussion.  Repeated instances of such behavior will have a negative impact on your participation grade.  Cell phones should also be turned off during class.
