In recent times, the rainy season has brought an increased likelihood of frontal systems and brief yet intense downpours. Consequently, both the interior and exterior of the campus are prone to hazards such as slippery surfaces, water accumulation, electrical shocks, and falling branches or objects. Particularly along commuting routes, parking lots, stairways, corridors, and building entrances and exits, the risk of slips and falls is heightened. All staff are urged to exercise heightened vigilance.

Please observe the following safety precautions during the rainy season:

1. Preventing Slips and Falls
Wet surfaces during rainy weather demand a slower pace when walking; avoid running, looking down at mobile devices, or becoming distracted. It is advisable to wear footwear with superior slip resistance or grip, and to steer clear of areas with fallen leaves, moss, standing water, or scattered branches.

2. Avoiding Electrical Hazards
Refrain from outdoor electrical work during rain or when surfaces are damp. Should any electrical equipment, extension cords, or outlets exhibit moisture, damage, or irregularities, cease their use immediately.

3. Preventing Falling Objects
During heavy rain or strong winds, avoid lingering beneath trees, near building facades, construction fences, signage, or temporary structures. Remain alert to the potential risk of falling branches or objects.

4. Preventing Water Accumulation and Drowning Incidents
In periods of heavy rainfall, keep a safe distance from ponds, irrigation ditches, drainage channels, or low-lying flooded areas. Do not attempt to traverse flooded pathways recklessly.

Remain unwavering in your commitment to safety throughout the rainy season. All colleagues are encouraged to exercise utmost caution during their commutes and while navigating the campus.
