Recent sightings of snakes have recently been reported on campus (e.g., near bushes, wooded areas, 1st-floor indoor classrooms, or outdoor areas). Please remain highly vigilant:
1. The "Three Don'ts and Three Dos" Principle When Encountering a Snake: (1) Don't actively provoke or attack. (2) Don't venture into dense bushes. (3) Don't attempt to catch it yourself. (4) Do maintain a safe distance. (5) Do practice protection and alert snakes by making noise before walking through tall grass ("grass-beating"). (6) Do report immediately (Campus Security Center: 0937651657; Campus Security Guards: 055524189).
2. First Aid Treatment If Bitten by a Snake: (1) Stay calm and minimize movement. (2) Remove constrictive items (as most venomous snake bites cause limb swelling, promptly remove rings, bracelets, watches, and other accessories). (3) Apply proper bandages and immobilization (use an elastic bandage or stockings to wrap the affected limb tightly to slow down the spread of venom). (4) Remember the snake's characteristics (try to remember its shape, size, and color to facilitate the subsequent use of antivenom). (5) Strictly avoid incorrect actions (do not cut the wound, suck out the venom with your mouth, or consume alcohol).
