1. The Central Weather Bureau forecasts that a maritime typhoon warning for Typhoon Champi will be issued late on the 21st or early on the 22nd, with a land typhoon warning preliminarily expected to be announced in the afternoon of the 22nd. It is anticipated that the storm’s wind circle may impact northern and northeastern Taiwan as well as adjacent waters. Accordingly, upon issuance of the maritime warning, the Central Disaster Response Center will immediately activate Level 2 operations. In response to Typhoon Champi, all units of Yuntech are urged to closely monitor the latest meteorological updates and typhoon developments from the Central Weather Bureau, and to steadfastly implement all typhoon and flood prevention preparations and response measures to safeguard the well-being of faculty and students.
2. All departments are requested to complete disaster preparedness measures in advance by thoroughly inspecting campus buildings, educational facilities, mechanical and electrical equipment, drainage systems, basements, low-lying areas, and the surrounding environment. Enhanced patrols should be conducted in high-risk zones prone to flooding, landslides, or falling rocks to ensure that all disaster prevention equipment and response mechanisms are functioning properly. Should any damage or safety concerns arise, prompt remediation, repair, and restoration efforts must be undertaken. When necessary, coordination with the Office of General Affairs to seek assistance from local government or relevant agencies is encouraged to ensure the safety of faculty and students and the smooth operation of campus affairs.
3. Departments must maintain continuous oversight of all outdoor activities involving faculty and students, including field trips, camps, club events, workshops, and other outdoor engagements. Activity leaders are required to keep their mobile phones accessible at all times to facilitate urgent communication. For activities located in mountainous regions, bodies of water, rivers, streams, coastlines, or other high-risk areas, a prudent risk assessment should be conducted based on the latest forecasts, warnings, and on-site conditions provided by the Central Weather Bureau. If necessary, schedules should be adjusted, postponed, or canceled, with alternative plans prepared in advance to ensure the safety of all participants.
4. All offices and building management units are to rigorously implement disaster inspection and reporting procedures, promptly assessing campus damage and the safety status of faculty and students. In the event of damage, once safety is assured, immediate notification must be made to the Office of General Affairs and Yuntech’s School Safety Center. Concurrently, accurate documentation of damage items and estimated costs should be submitted based on actual conditions. Should any damage to buildings, facilities, or external transportation routes compromise safety, campus operations, or related activities, these must be promptly addressed and managed. In cases of major disasters or emergencies, immediate reporting in accordance with regulations is mandatory, and communication channels must remain open to facilitate timely situational awareness and assistance.
